white trash series:
YO! We did it at last! This series was our sword of Damokles so to say for several month because of the owner of the location, a subway station in Vienna. We wanted to do it there for obvious reasons as you can see but Vienna public transport provider "Wiener Linien" is led by a punch of crazy fucks.
No matter how hard we tried (and believe us, we did our utmost, checking out the best day and time to cause the least trouble for their passengers et al.) these people would not let us shoot there. We would not care about it if this is a principle but since Oliver works for austrian television and went to almost the same place with a whole film crew to shoot some documentary during the rush hour even we found out that these people do not care so much about principles but hide a simple fact behind them: their boundless dullness!
c-o-de of c-o-urse had to react on such an insult and we decided to take the risk: not without being prepared of c-o-urse. Our answer to their "security" measurments such as cameras and supervision was a network of radio sets. We placed a person at a key point to keep our back clear, so to say. And we succeeded. Just after we finished 7 rolls of film they disc-o-vered us and we were warned already and c-o-uld escape! Thanx, Wolfgang, you did a great job!
As for the shooting itself: you know the c-o-stume already from the punk test shots. It was designed by Tina from HW-Design following a layout from c-o-de. Both, jacket and skirt can be ordered in our c-o-mmerce section. We used two cameras, a Mamiya 645 and a Hasselblad SWC for the more wide-angle stuff. The pics were shot on Kodak Ectachrome 400 X, a very nice, highly saturated film and then forced to 1600 ASA to get the trashy neon atmosphere. Lighting was done obviously with available light and my good old Bartenbach reflectors. Thanx loads to Alex for taking the risk together with us and operating the reflctor. And another big Thank you! goes out to our supervising skater girl Dani Sommer from Gibian Vienna.
